Nosotros

Hispanic Ministries in Quincy, WA is a challenge for us. This is a small town with a population of 6000 people and about 66% of it is Hispanic. It is located in central Washington. My family and I arrived here from Peru in the year of 2003. I was invited by First Baptist Church to work as an associate pastor. With previous years of experience in the field we knew we had to learn about the culture, language, the new ways of life, and get used to the sadness of not being able to see our families. That is what the Lord asks of us many times and we have to obey.

Hispanic Ministries in Quincy, WA  is being developed. We are starting to integrate our new converted Christians to our church which has been formed for 56 years in this place. The North American brothers and sisters welcomed us warmly and without any prejudgments). They accepted us the way we are and where we came from. I can surely say that our church in multicultural. Our morning services are in English and in the evening in Spanish translated into English.

Hispanic Ministries in First Baptist Church  is starting some key ministries necessary to reach out to the town  like the first church in Jerusalem did. (Acts 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people.) These are programs like teaching English, Spanish, sowing and others. These help us show them our real interest which is to show them what Christ did for us. There are quite a few baptized believers who are members of our church. Ps. Don Valen, our church’s senior pastor, has an important role in this process.

Hispanic Ministries in First Baptist Church is sowing seed in the hearts of the members, as the verse says: “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead (James 2:17)” For people to glorify God it is necessary to live a practical góspel in a world where sin is existant. (Así alumbre vuestra luz delante de los hombres, para que vean vuestras buenas obras, y glorifiquen a vuestro Padre que está en los cielos)

First Baptist Church in Quincy WA is a small church with a big heart filled with compassion for the people without Church. Hispanic Ministries is an important ministry in the development and growth of our local church.

Please pray for us and our churches; so that there will be heart who will want to reach out to the Hispanic population. Pray for our ministry and its fruits to keep reproducing in the Baptist churches in our nation.
