CALL WITHOUT ENTHUSIASM
Firday January 19, 2018

Daniel 11-12 | Judas
«For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.» – Isaiah 55: 9

We live in a world full of great needs, which is especially evident when we look at the sick and impoverished countries, which are usually involved in internal wars heartbreaking. Who would not move to help if I could do it? But one of the biggest dangers in the Christian life is what I call «unenlightened enthusiasm»; it is the enthusiasm for the things of God, but not instructed how God operates.

I remember that I was invited to speak at a youth conference in Peru missions, to make a challenge, everything very well until the last day, Sunday, at the end of my message, I was asked to invite young people to engage in missions and mission fields in the world. I assure you that this was something I could do, since I did my conscience had not been quiet. We can invite people to engage with God, but not in specific areas, which probably made them God has not called. Once we are committed to God, He will undertake to carry out through us all that He himself has called us to do, as we let them. If the field missions, the right doors will open and God will send people. If not, the worst we can do is ask someone to engage in something that may not be the call of God for your life.

After spending a weekend exposing the great needs of this world and all the challenges of serving in missions, it is logical that these young people were particularly vulnerable. I’ve been in enough mission fields in different places to know that one of the biggest problems that exists is that there are many people who should not be there; good and sincere people, but God never called to missions, and brought them there. It is very easy for anyone who has ability and good heart, saying: «Yes, I go to the missions.» It is not our role to lead people how they should serve God, but we must bring to a relationship with Him, and He will be the one to lead his ways and take you where he has planned; we must always rely on the leadership of God in our lives.

God seeks people who are willing to serve, at home, at work, in the world of business, in government, in the streets, in hospitals, in schools, persons employed not idle and every Christian is also called by God to serve. God knows us better than we know ourselves, and we should let him be the orchestrator. Through a relationship with Him, we not only take in the direction that He has called us, but we equip and give us the power to do so. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says, «He who calls you is faithful and he will do it.» Whether at a local mission or a mission field abroad, will be the work of God and we can be sure it will be something absolutely wonderful .

PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for You who directs my life.
