En 1962, la NASA rechazó a John Glenn como candidato para el primer vuelo orbital tripulado por considerarlo demasiado mayor. Tenía 40 años. Glenn no abandonó. Siguió entrenando, siguió esperando. Fue el primer astronauta en orbitar la Tierra y se convirtió en héroe nacional. Pero la historia no termina ahí: en 1998, a los 77 años, John Glenn regresó al espacio a bordo del transbordador Discovery, convirtiéndose en el astronauta de mayor edad en la historia. Su futuro a los 40 no se veía como él imaginaba — era mejor.
Jeremías 29:11 fue escrito para personas en el peor momento de su historia: Israel llevaba setenta años en el exilio babilónico. No había horizonte visible. Y sin embargo, Dios irrumpe con una declaración asombrosa: «Yo sé los planes que tengo para vosotros.» Dios no dijo «espero que salga bien.» Dijo: «Yo sé.» El futuro de Israel no era un accidente — era un plan.
El mismo Dios que tenía planes para Israel en el exilio tiene planes para ti en tu circunstancia actual. Y Sus planes son siempre mejores que los tuyos. Eso no significa que el camino no tendrá dolor — Israel tardó setenta años. Significa que el final es bueno, porque quien escribe el final es bueno.
Hoy quizás tu futuro parece incierto, interrumpido o muy diferente a lo que esperabas. Pero un Dios soberano no tiene planes interrumpidos — tiene tiempos diferentes a los nuestros. Confía en Sus pensamientos sobre ti. Él los conoce todos, y todos son de paz.
Recuerda: «Tu futuro no está en manos del azar ni de tus errores está en manos del Dios que ya lo vio y dijo que es bueno.»
Oremos: Señor mi Dios , entrego mi futuro en Tus manos. Lo que no puedo ver, Tú ya lo viste. Lo que temo, Tú ya lo tienes en control. Ayúdame a vivir hoy con confianza plena en Tus planes. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén.

In 1962, NASA rejected John Glenn as a candidate for the first crewed orbital flight, considering him too old. He was 40 years old. Glenn did not give up. He kept training, kept waiting. He became the first American to orbit the Earth and was celebrated as a national hero. But the story does not end there: in 1998, at the age of 77, John Glenn returned to space aboard the shuttle Discovery, becoming the oldest astronaut in history. His future at 40 did not look the way he imagined — it was better.
Jeremiah 29:11 was written for people in the worst moment of their history: Israel had been in Babylonian exile for seventy years. There was no visible horizon. And yet God breaks through with an astonishing declaration: «I know the plans I have for you.» God did not say «I hope things work out.» He said: «I know.» Israel’s future was not an accident — it was a plan.
The same God who had plans for Israel in exile has plans for you in your current circumstances. And His plans are always better than yours. That does not mean the road will have no pain — Israel waited seventy years. It means the ending is good, because the One who writes the ending is good.
Today perhaps your future seems uncertain, interrupted, or very different from what you expected. But a sovereign God does not have interrupted plans — He has different timing than ours. Trust in His thoughts toward you. He knows them all, and every one of them is for your peace.
Remember: «Your future is not in the hands of chance or your mistakes — it is in the hands of the God who has already seen it and declared it good.»
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, I place my future in Your hands. What I cannot see, You have already seen. What I fear, You already hold in control. Help me to live today with complete confidence in Your plans. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
