«Te hare entender, y te ensenare el camino en que debes andar; sobre ti fijare mis ojos.» Salmos 32:8
En la antigüedad, los navegantes dependían de las estrellas para cruzar los océanos, pero cuando el cielo se nublaba, podían perder el rumbo durante días. En el siglo XIX se desarrolló el sextante, que es un instrumento que permitía calcular la posición incluso con visibilidad reducida. Sin embargo, el capitán que más se admiraba no era el que tenía el mejor sextante, era el que conocía tan profundamente los patrones del mar, las corrientes y los vientos, que podía navegar con confianza, aunque los instrumentos fallaran. El conocimiento del navegante era más confiable que sus herramientas.
Dios no promete darte un mapa de toda tu vida de una vez, El promete guiarte y hay una diferencia enorme entre las dos cosas. Un mapa te da control, mientras que la guía requiere confianza. Dios es el Buen Pastor que va delante, no el GPS que te da las instrucciones por adelantado. Oh caminas con El, y no detrás de un plan que Él te dejo.
¿Como guía Dios?
A través de Su Palabra, que es la brújula principal.
A través de Su Espíritu, que incomoda, pero convence y dirige.
A través del consejo de personas sabias y piadosas.
A través de circunstancias que abren o cierran puertas.
Y a través de la paz o la ausencia de ella en tu interior.
Y te recomiendo que cuando todos estos canales apunten en la misma dirección, entonces camina.
¿Estas esperando que Dios te revele todo el camino antes de dar el primer paso? Rara vez funciona así. Su guía generalmente ilumina el paso siguiente, no el destino final. Da el paso que tienes luz para dar, y confía en que cuando llegues al siguiente, te aseguro que habrá más luz.
Recuerda: «Dios no te da el mapa completo porque no quiere que confíes en el mapa, quiere que confíes en El.»
Oremos: Dios , necesito Tu guía hoy y no te pido que me des todo el mapa, te pido luz para el paso siguiente. Confió en que Tu Espíritu me dirigirá en el momento correcto. En el nombre de Jesús. Amen.

Devotional 59 — Guidance

«I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.»
Psalm 32:8
In ancient times, navigators depended on the stars to cross the oceans, but when the sky clouded over, they could lose their bearings for days. In the 19th century the sextant was developed — an instrument that allowed sailors to calculate their position even with reduced visibility. Yet the most admired captain was not the one with the best sextant; it was the one who knew so deeply the patterns of the sea, the currents, and the winds, that he could navigate with confidence even when his instruments failed. The navigator’s knowledge was more reliable than his tools.
God does not promise to give you a map of your entire life all at once — He promises to guide you. And there is an enormous difference between the two. A map gives you control; guidance requires trust. God is the Good Shepherd who walks ahead, not a GPS that hands you all the instructions in advance. You walk with Him — not behind a plan He left behind for you.
How does God guide?
Through His Word, which is the primary compass.
Through His Spirit, which unsettles, but also convicts and directs.
Through the counsel of wise and godly people.
Through circumstances that open or close doors.
Through the presence or absence of peace within you.
When all these channels point in the same direction — then walk.
Are you waiting for God to reveal the entire road before you take the first step? It rarely works that way. His guidance generally illuminates the next step, not the final destination. Take the step you have light for, and trust that when you reach the next one, there will be more light waiting for you.
Remember: «God does not give you the complete map because He does not want you to trust the map — He wants you to trust Him.»
Let us pray: God, I need Your guidance today. I am not asking You to give me the whole map — I am asking for light for the next step. I trust that Your Spirit will direct me at the right moment. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
