Devocional 25  —  La Comunidad

«Y perseveraban en la doctrina de los apóstoles, en la comunión unos con otros, en el partimiento del pan y en las oraciones.» Hechos 2:42

Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, un soldado herido fue trasladado a un hospital de campaña en Francia. El médico que lo atendió le preguntó cómo era posible que siguiera con vida, pues sus heridas eran mortales y el soldado le respondió: «Los hombres de mi pelotón no me dejaron morir, cada uno turnándose, me cargaron kilómetros hasta llegar aquí y ninguno se rindió.» ¿Sabes? El Sobrevivió porque no estaba solo fue su comunidad quien literalmente le salvó la vida.

Esa historia militar refleja exactamente lo que Dios diseñó para Su iglesia, los primeros creyentes en Jerusalén no iban a la iglesia, ellos eran la iglesia. Se reunían cada día, compartían sus bienes, oraban juntos y se sostenían mutuamente. No era una organización religiosa; era una familia en movimiento.

La comunidad cristiana auténtica no es perfecta pero es honesta y es el lugar donde puedes llevar tus dudas, tus heridas y tus fracasos, y encontrar gracia en lugar de juicio, es donde alguien te llama cuando no apareces, es también en donde alguien ora por ti cuando ya no tienes fuerzas para hacerlo. El creyente aislado es como una brasa separada del fuego: se apaga lentamente.

Si hoy sientes que tu fe se está enfriando, pregúntate cuánto tiempo llevas alejado de la comunidad. Dios no te llamó a creer solo te llamó a pertenecer. Nadie fue diseñado para cargar solo el peso de la vida.

«La comunidad cristiana no es el lugar donde los perfectos se reúnen, sino donde los heridos se sanan juntos.»

Oremos: Señor Jesús, gracias por la iglesia que es tu cuerpo en la tierra. Perdóname por las veces que he querido vivir mi fe en aislamiento. Dame el valor de abrirme, de servir y de dejarme servir. Ayúdame a ser para alguien hoy lo que otros fueron para mí en mis momentos más difíciles. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén.

«They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.» Acts 2:42

During World War II, a wounded soldier was taken to a field hospital in France. The doctor who treated him asked how it was possible that he was still alive, since his wounds were fatal. The soldier replied: «The men in my platoon wouldn’t let me die. Taking turns, they carried me for miles to get here, and not one of them gave up.» You know what? He survived because he was not alone — it was his community that literally saved his life.

That military story reflects exactly what God designed for His church. The first believers in Jerusalem didn’t go to church — they were the church. They gathered every day, shared their belongings, prayed together, and held one another up. It was not a religious organization; it was a family on the move.

Authentic Christian community is not perfect — but it is honest. It is the place where you can bring your doubts, your wounds, and your failures, and find grace instead of judgment. It is where someone calls you when you don’t show up. It is also where someone prays for you when you no longer have the strength to do it yourself. An isolated believer is like a coal separated from the fire: it slowly goes out.

If today you feel your faith growing cold, ask yourself how long you have been away from community. God did not call you to believe alone — He called you to belong. No one was designed to carry the weight of life by themselves.

«Community is not the place where the perfect gather, but where the wounded are healed together.»

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for the church — Your body on earth. Forgive me for the times I have tried to live my faith in isolation. Give me the courage to open up, to serve, and to allow others to serve me. Help me to be for someone today what others were for me in my most difficult moments. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
